What I keep, and how to make me delete it.

What I collect

When you contact me: your name, email, phone number, and whatever you write in the message. When I’m working for you: the footage, photos, audio, and files we create together, plus the emails and texts between us about the project.

When you visit this site: standard analytics through Google Analytics, which tells me how many people came and which pages they read. It doesn’t tell me who you are.

Instagram

I run private software that connects to my own Instagram business account, @william.bransford, through Meta’s official API. It reads three things and only from my own account: comments people leave on my posts, posts that tag me, and direct messages people send me.

It stores them in a private database on my own computer, so that when someone I know reaches out on Instagram I have the same history I’d have from an email or a text. Nothing is published, shared, sold, or sent to any third party. The software never posts, comments, or messages anyone on my behalf, and it never touches an account other than my own.

If you have commented on or messaged my Instagram account and you want that removed, see below. I’ll delete it.

What I don’t do

I don’t sell your information. I don’t share it with advertisers, brokers, or anyone building a profile on you. I don’t use your footage in my portfolio without asking first. I don’t send marketing email you didn’t ask for.

Who else touches it

A short list of services that hold pieces of this on my behalf: Google (email and analytics), Vimeo and YouTube (finished video, when a project is published), Stripe (payments, which means Stripe holds the card details and I never see them), and Meta (the Instagram data described above). Each has its own privacy policy.

How long I keep it

Project files and the conversation around them: as long as you’re a client, plus a few years after, because clients come back and ask for old footage more often than you’d think. Everything else: until it stops being useful, or until you ask me to delete it.

Deleting your data

Email william@williambransford.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and tell me what to remove: your contact record, your Instagram comments and messages, your project files, or all of it. Say which Instagram handle or email address to look for so I can find you.

I’ll confirm within 7 days and finish within 30. If something has to stay, an invoice I’m legally required to keep, for instance, I’ll tell you exactly what and why. There’s no cost and I won’t ask you to justify it.
