How to install a LUT in Final Cut Pro
Apply a .cube LUT in Final Cut Pro with the Custom LUT effect or as a custom camera LUT, turn off Final Cut's own log conversion, and apply it to many clips.
Final Cut Pro converts log footage it recognizes with a built-in camera LUT. Switch that off for the clip, then add this LUT with the Custom LUT effect.

A camera LUT applies to every use of the clip in the library, before any effects. A Custom LUT effect applies to one clip in the timeline and can sit anywhere in the effect order.Source
The Mix slider in the Custom LUT section blends the original back in.Source
Final Cut keeps imported LUTs in ~/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Custom LUTs and …/Camera LUTs. Copying a library does not copy the LUT file.Source
In a Standard (Rec. 709) library, this LUT's Rec. 709 output is the working space. Check it under File > Library Properties.Source
Documentation gaps
Apple doesn't list the names in the Input and Output menus, so this guide doesn't either.
